In today's vlog, we start off by touring our stateroom (room 12714) on the Norwegian Breakaway. 12714 is a Family Balcony stateroom type, featuring a queen bed, a sofa, and, as the type suggests, a balcony! Many Family Balcony staterooms on the Norwegian Breakaway (ours included), have a door that connects to the stateroom next door. This cruise on the Norwegian Breakaway marked our second cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line and we became bronze tier members in Norwegian Cruise Line's Latitudes Rewards program. One of the rewards for bronze members is a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine, which was waiting on the desk for us to enjoy while onboard. The balcony in a Family Balcony stateroom on the Norwegian Breakaway isn't the most spacious, but it was more than enough space for two people to enjoy the sunshine, views, a good book, and maybe some of that sparkling wine! While docked in Port Canaveral, we had a great view of the Disney Fantasy from our balcony on the Norwegian Breakaway.

Before the mandatory muster drill on the Norwegian Breakaway, we had to make an ice cream stop at the Garden Cafe, which is the buffet on the Norwegian Breakaway. We happened to be walking passed the Entourage Teen Lounge during an open house when all ages are allowed to go in and check it out. The Entourage Teen Lounge on the Norwegian Breakaway is a video game lovers paradise, with Wii and Playstation consoles, as well as plenty of games for each.

The arcade on the Norwegian Breakaway is huge with just about any game you could want, including those that reward players with tickets. There is a ticket taking machine near the front of the arcade that accepts tickets and, depending on how many it receives, allows players to select prizes they're eligible to win. Just outside of the arcade is the Norwegian Breakaway's rock-climbing wall. Look up above the rock-climbing wall and you'll see the Norwegian Breakaway's ropes course. The ropes course is very expansive, allowing for those brave enough to have at least 30 minutes of fun up there. A short staircase up from the rock-climbing wall and the arcade is the sports deck on the Norwegian Breakaway. The sports deck provides plenty of room for either soccer, basketball, or both! We enjoyed shooting some hoops on the sports deck of the Norwegian Breakaway just before the muster drill.

After the muster drill, it was finally time to sail away on the Norwegian Breakaway! Hang around the pool deck on the Norwegian Breakaway if you want the best seat in the...ship...for the sailaway party. A DJ, dancing, conga line, drinks, and more can all be enjoyed during sailaway. We found a quieter place to enjoy sailaway on the Norwegian Breakaway, however; a hot tub near the Spice H2O lounge on deck 16. Sailing away in a hot tub is great!

We got our first taste of the Thermal Suite on the Norwegian Breakaway and it is the perfect way to start your vacation with relaxation, but more on that in future vlogs, so stay tuned! Day one dinner on the Norwegian Breakaway was at Garden Cafe. Each night at the Norwegian Breakaway buffet has either a specialty or a theme night. Day one's specialty was beef with chimichurri sauce.

After dinner it was back to our stateroom on the Norwegian Breakaway to plan the rest of our night. Room 12714 is forward on the Norwegian Breakaway and just being in there for a little bit, we realized how much we were going to feel the ocean during the cruise. We saw the welcome show on the Norwegian Breakaway, which is like a preview of a lot of the entertainment passengers can look forward to while onboard. We stopped in the casino on the Norwegian Breakaway to play one of our favorite games, Dancing Queen, which is a coin pusher-type game. Just above the casino, I noticed some people wearing what appeared to be parkas and that is what you put on before going into the freezing Skyy Vodka Ice Bar on deck 8 of the Norwegian Breakaway. Before heading back to our stateroom for the night, we witnessed how the rough seas were affecting the pools on the Norwegian Breakaway.

Thanks for joining us for day one on the Norwegian Breakaway! Don't miss the rest of the cruise!
