Golden Tours TV is a series of videos discussing some of the places and fantastic destinations our tours visit, for you to both enjoy and to provide some inspiration for when you plan your next trip.
Today, we are travelling to Somerset and the city of Bath. So, what do you know about Bath? Perhaps you've heard of the famous Roman Baths which is where the city gets its name? Maybe you've heard its very pretty? Maybe you haven't heard of it. Do you know where it is? Well it's 12 miles East of Bristol in the South West of England and full of legends, history and famous residents. If you have an English £10 note, take a look…I can tell you about why the woman pictured, Jane Austen, hated the city and its people.
Join us in the beautiful City of Bath, one of England's most treasured city's, home to 2000 year old Roman baths and spas, with the highest concentration of Georgian architecture of anywhere in the world. Sitting in a valley surrounded by the Mendip hills, the river Avon flows through it and they have the only natural hot springs in Britain. All of this and more makes it one of 4 UNESCO World Heritage cities in the UK along with Edinburgh, Liverpool and Telford. So, sit back and relax as we glide our way through cobbled streets, peaceful river walks and millennia of history
