Entry Requirements and Prep for France Vlog:

Hi guys welcome to aclaireytale!!! Welcome to a brand new series of Greece Vlogs!! Come join us as we head to Athens!! I don't talk in the video about all the things you have to do test wise as I went over this all in the France vlogs and things change so quickly. If you do want to see about precautions I have linked the video above.

I have joined two fun filled Athens days together in this one. Firstly we get the Athens underground to Akedemia which is the old university and national library. We head to a famous greek bakery Mam. They serve all the famous traditional greek pies, cheese pies, bougatsa, spanakopita. We try the street food! Next we head to the National Archeological Museum which is famous for housing the Antikytheria mechanism and Agamemnon's Gold Death Mask. I show you those quickly and then we head to Lycabettus Hill we go up and down the hill in the cable car. The view from the top of Lycabettus hill is the best view of Athens, it's the highest point of Athens and it was amazing to see the whole city from up there. We have a drink up there at the top and look out at the views.
We head back to the hotel for a relax in the hot tub. Hotel Herodion was so well situated! We went to a greek taverna for dinner and headed to a supermarket for Greek snacks.

The next morning we have breakfast in the hotel and head straight to the Acropolis Museum. I loved this museum it was fascinating! They hold the original Caryatids and also the original sculptures which were on the Parthenon. I then tell you about this bit that is on QI - here is the link to the video if you'd like a good laugh:

QI Parthenon Joke!

We head into Plaka and Monastiraki and go into the Hard Rock Cafe Athens for some pins. We look around a church and cathedral and then have lunch and a famous Souvlaki shop. This restaurant is known as the best Souvlaki in Athens! It's a place called Kostas Souvlaki on Pendelis Street. We then go to a 360 bar we've heard lots about in town. We had a glorious view of the Acropolis and had a couple of drinks. We head back to the hotel for a hot tub relax.
We then walk to Philopappus Hill to watch the sunset over the parthenon. It was absolutely stunning and so calming. This hill was renowned for all the famous thinkers to go up and philosophise. After the sunset we have even more Souvlaki!!

I hope you enjoy these two jam-packed days, next week will be the final Athens vlog! Thank you so much for watching!! Stay tuned for next week for even more!!
